Skype 2.0 Beta + Webcam
PoeticIntensity
Earlier today I wrote about my experience trying to get a Logitech Orbit AF webcam installed in Gentoo Linux.
About 2 hours later, I finally got Skype 2.0 beta to work (after figuring out a problem with QT), and upon loading it, configuring it, and finding someone with whom to test it (thanks, mindjuju), I finally got a webcam to act as a streami...

Logitech Orbit AF and Gentoo
PoeticIntensity
This morning, I ended up with a new toy in my hands and as luck would have it, I also had a couple of hours to mess with it.
The device is a Logitech QuickCam Orbit AF webcam.
I've always had a little interest in videography (nothing compared to my interest in audio, however), and from time-to-time I've tried to get various webcams to work in L...

Happy 5th Anniversary, Jason
PoeticIntensity
When will I ever learn to trust my wife, my brother, and my instinct? Probably never.
You see, Ryan, my brother, noted how bald the tires are on my Mustang GT about a month ago. My wife also noted the same thing, as well as a pretty big storm coming this weekend. Anyway... I'll get on with the story.
Sarah and I celebra...

I've personally verified that it works with Windows 98 1st Edition (helping my neighbor with computers too old to run XP efficiently...

Recently, I have had the opportunity to have my mind opened to various opportunities having to do with mortgages and investment properties, and whatnot, and in the midst of all this, we have had to contact the lending company on our primary mortgage.
Yesterday, I was on hold for 1.5 hours with Citibank's collections department, after being transf...

Wow... I can't believe I'm still awake. For future reference, the day after Thanksgiving is a day of pain. It is a day of fear and dread. But today was better.
When I got married to my wonderful wife, she told me she would marry me on one condition. Okay, okay... That's a lie. But if I wrote down all the conditions u...

Women's Roles / LDS Beliefs
PoeticIntensity
A couple of weeks ago, I spent some time in my car driving to and from Salt Lake City. During the trip, I had the opportunity to listen to one of the best talks on Women's Roles in the LDS faith. I was so impressed by the contents of this talk, I had to listen to the entire thing twice.
Both times, both my heart and my eyes were fille...

Beyond yesterday's post, I haven't posted anything in awhile. I guess it's because nothing really interesting has happened lately.
My kids are growing like weeds, and I try to enjoy them when want to, and I'm trying to want to more often. That's kind of a sad statement, but I don't believe I am a "born-to-parent" type of guy...

So, about 4 or 5 years ago, I met a guy named Jesse Crowley, and we played music together. At first we played music that other people wrote, but then Jesse got bored with that, and decided to write Christmas music instead. We recorded a few Christmas albums, and I think they turned out pretty good.
So, Jesse decided that wasn't enough...

Steve Ballmer At His Best

About a month ago, I came upon this video, which you simply must watch. It's basically a re-make of videos previously posted about a pretty animated Steve Ballmer (Microsoft's CEO) put to music, and hacked up beautifully.
At the time I watched it, I didn't think much of it. It was funny, and it was Steve Ballmer. Hooray.

Ya know... One thing which really irks me is when someone tells me "I can't", for whatever reason.

I've often wondered why this chapter isn't included in chapter 2. They both seem to go on about the evils of Jacob's audience. They also are wi...

This chapter is quite possibly one of the most potent chapters in all of the Book of Mormon. It ranks right up there with the story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehi's willingly laying down their lives in the midst of thousands of people wanting to kill them, and thus, converting even more to the true faith of Christ.
All I've got to say is, "Wow...

Seems that the testimony of Nephi against the people of Zarahemlah was centered around their disbelief in Christ. Interesting that, as soon a Satan has control over a people, Christ is the first doctrine which is attacked.
Also the story of the finding of the murderer of Seezoram is interesting through the eyes of the foreknowledge of God.&...

Reading the beginning of this chapter, I knew this was where the Lamanites and Nephites would enter into free commerce with one another. Honest living of the Gospe...
