Mormon : 1
Not sure why this caught my attention this time, but doesn't it seem a bit weird that Mormon was carried by his father when he was 11 years old? It seems like he was carried on somewhat of a journey, too - to a different land. Maybe his father was quite big and could accomplish such a task, because an 11-year-old isn't small enough to just throw in a cradle and carry for miles and miles. Anyway.. That's a bit off-subject.
I don't know of too many periods in history where wickedness prevailed in such a manner that the Lord prevented the preaching of His gospel. Leaders of countries have prevented it, and currently prevent it, but not the Lord. Very interesting.
My favorite verse in this chapter is definitely verse 15. "...I was visited of the Lord and tasted and knew of the goodness of Jesus."
That's almost poetic, and instantly brings the Spirit to my heart. The message felt in me is simply, "I have too."
...and sweet it is.
