It might be that I'm a techno-geek, but the first thing I thought of when I read this was "social media".  People went from house to house and "labored exceedingly" all through the night to let it be known where Jesus was going to come the following day.

Also interesting are the activities of the people when the arrived there.  They didn't just sit and wait.  They engaged themselves in teaching, praying and ministering while they were gathered around.

There is something so beautiful about this chapter.  Prayer is such a beautiful thing.  Interesting that in verse 24, it uses the word "desire" when describing what the disciples were filled with.  I've found this to be very true when praying, and connecting on a deeper level with God.

Three times, Jesus went a little way off and prayed to God, in what seems like it must have been a very little time.  I don't think I pray near enough.

Also interesting is that the words used seem to be very important. In verse 8, it states that they varied "nothing from the words which Jesus had spoken".

Great chapter.

I have had some very difficult trials come up in my life... I am so grateful to have something or someone, who feels such humility and yet such grate awe at the Lords tender mercies... I am a nurse, and at times, don't feel like I can give anymore.. The master healer, the savior, what an honor to give succor to his lambs...

I have survived thus far, Childhood traumas, Cancer, Am six and one half years sober, and still continue to be amazed at The Balm of Gilead, I receive everyday... I have realized When my well is empty, I can fill it with the Saviors Love and perhaps, my tears...
