3 Nephi : 5
Reading this chapter with Mormon talking quite frankly to the reader of his book is really quite inspirational. The later verses of this chapter would be ones to really dig at and lean into every word which is written.
The testimony within me of the Book of Mormon is probably the oldest testimony I have. The only one I can think of which would reach back farther is that testimony of God's love for me, his child.
I love the Book of Mormon. From when I was 14 years old until now, and hopefully until the day I die (and beyond), I will bear witness to the truthfulness of this book. Yes! Nephi was a real guy, who really walked with his family from Jerusalem to the borders of the sea, and went on to the promised land. Yes! Alma and Amulek were really missionaries for the Lord who witnessed miracle after miracle. Yes! The Nephite and Lamanite nations occupied portions of the American continent before Christ was born, and YES! Jesus Christ really did visit the Nephites in the land Bountiful, and allowed all who were in attendance to witness, personally, that He indeed was Christ the Savior.
I know the Book of Mormon is true, and hope to proclaim this to any soul who wishes to know. I know it teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and will provide a pathway to heaven for those who read, ponder, and heed its teachings.
I love it, I love it, I love it, and the Spirit bears witness to me every time I read, talk about, or even think about its teachings.
Thus it is, and thus we will all find out, each and every one of us.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
