Amazing.  A couple of chapters ago, I was commenting on the sad state which Nephi found himself in, and the amazing faith he must have had to remain in a state of faithfulness to God, when everyone around him was wicked.

I guess that's the way it goes.  God tries us to our breaking point, careful not to give us trials beyond our capability to withstand, but right up to that point, and then, if we remain faithful, bountiful blessings are given.  In Nephi's case, his calling and election was made sure.  Can't think of anything much higher than that.

I wonder what it was like when he heard those words...  Especially feeling as downtrodden as he probably did.

This gives me an added boost of faith to withstand the trials given me, even when I think I can't stand it any more.  We never know when the liberation of the trial, and blessings are just seconds away.
