Projects Are Officially Dead
I've been debating on whether or not to write about this, and if I write about it, whether or not to make it public.

Well... As you can see, I decided to make it public.  and to write about it.

I came to work two days ago with the intent on working on the last of the original PHP projects still having a chance on making it through the merger, when I walked into my bosses office intent on just shooting the breeze for a bit, when he asked me, "How are things?"

I responded, "Eh...  At least I've still got the sales reports."

He then looked at me, and by his expression, I could tell he had bad news.  Without saying it directly, he let me know that the good ol' sales reporting system was now being force-fed into the new system being developed by the other team as well.

Ah, well...  Now I can spend all my time learning C#, .NET, and all those other technologies I love so much.  Ah, whatever..  I'm just kind of sad right now.  It's never easy to see all the hard work you've done over the past 2 years be dismantled into something else.

But, as they say, "C'est la vie"...  Just gotta adapt and figure out where I really want my career to go now.

All it is now is a matter of time, determination, and decisions made by people who pay me.  Not to mention a lot of prayer and soul searching.
