More Samuel Stuff...
Wow.... I guess all of our babies couldn't be 100% perfect in the birthing process.
I thought I'd have written 2 or more entries by now, but... Things definitely are dynamic with birth, so ya never know.
If you haven't read the
pre-post and the
first post on Samuel's birth, I'd recommend it, just to catch up...
After the birth, and the first night at the hospital, we all thought we'd be going home with Samuel yesterday evening. Well, it didn't quite work out that way.
The nurse came in around 7:00pm yesterday evening telling us that Samuel's Biliruben levels were in the "high risk" level, so we needed to stay an extra night with him under the "Bili Light". We, of course, conceded, and we had a rough night last night. Sarah felt better, though, after I went home and brought back her pillow.
So, after another long night at the hospital, we ended up leaving today at around 1:00pm.
So.... Now, Samuel has his own privately lit bassinet to sleep in for the next few days (hopefully only today / tonight, but ya never know).
Anyway... He's ... wonderful. Considering everything that could go wrong with the birthing process, I still consider myself one of the luckiest people on earth.
Samuel is doing fine, Sarah is slowly recovering from birthing, and I'm planning on getting next to no sleep for the next few days / weeks..... / months...... ah well... Sleep was good while I was single. *smile*
Enjoy the photos / video.
