Gen. Conf. - Sustaining - Uchtdorf
I didn't really anticipate writing anything about the sustaining of the church officers after seeing it, but for some reason, when President Uchtdorf asked all the elders and high priests to stand and sustain Thomas S. Monson as president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Prophet, Seer, and Revelator, something I didn't expect happened.
As soon as I stood up, I felt a significant swelling in my chest which almost brought me to tears. As this was happening, I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me personally that this man was, in very deed, the Lord's prophet in this day.
It was a very humbling experience. I've never felt this way before. Probably because when Gordon B. Hinckley was sustained, I didn't even get to watch it because I was serving my mission in Colombia.
Very unexpected spiritual experience, so I thought I should write about it.
Also, I'm going to try to write about each talk after I watch it again, and hopefully, I can do one per day for the next month or so.
We'll see!
