I agree with Hunter!  This is very disrepectful to the poor dog! Its not his fault hes ugly!  I think hes just rare!  Rare and unusual but not too ugly! jeez!  God bless the poor dog.  Wherever he is, may it be a good place.  I know animals have souls and i know he had a good one!  And god bless his owner! it takes alot of perseverance to have a dog like that and probably come to love it and then it dies.  Also, with people saying it was for the best!  He treated his dog well and tahts all that matters!  He has all my prayers!  And yes it is scary but still!  Try to see something good in him!

Okay first off, everyone here needs to learn how to spell, and start using real words please. Secondly, yes it's a bit mean to insult the way the dog looked, but there is no question that the dog is deformed and quite ugly. Many of you are making assumptions that this dog was suffering horribly, but how do you know it should have been put down, as far as I've heard, this dog led a happy peaceful life.

I saw a show about the ugliest dog contests.  It was on National Geographic or something.  That dog was a Chinese Crested, and they're not known for their beauty.  He was missing many teeth because he was 14 (old for a dog) and his eyes look weird because he was totally blind.  The current ugliest dog is, I think, also a Chinese Crested.  I really don't think a dog cares if a person thinks it's ugly, as long as it has food, shelter, and lots of love, which Sam definitely did.  I agree with you about the naked mole rat...yikes!  I saw one at the Erie Zoo a few weeks ago.

People should check their grammar and spelling before they post and not get so riled up about silly things like calling a dog ugly.
