I just wanted to let you all know I'm experimenting with putting ads on ILoveMyJournal.  I've been paying a bit too much to host the various sites I put up, so I'm seeing if I can re-coup any of it through ads. If you want to get rid of the ads, simply log in.  As soon as you log in, all ads should disappear. I'm not 100% sure if I'm ...

I just spent the last 5 hours trying to get Evolution to connect to our corporate Exchange server.  I finally figured it out, and I can now interoperate 100% with calendars, contacts, meetings, and email from our Exchange server. Due to the wide array of configuration options in Exchange, doing a step-by-step how-to would be, for the most p...

I live beside a lady named Helen, her husband died two years ago. Manti goes over and helps her out a lot. Well one day he was off somewhere ( I don't know where) so I went up to help her, after I helped she asked me to go swiming with her in her pool. Of coruse I went ( what do you think I am... Stupid? ) While we swam we talk...

Although I use the Internet and Linux to make a living, there's still a bunch I have to learn.  One of those things happens to be the most popular ad affiliate program in the world. Last week, I was doing a bit of research, and found that I could be making a bit of money using google adsense.  Enough to get rich?  Heavens no, but ...

I've been reading Matthew in seminary and have been understanding things so much better. My teacher has us write down what jumped out out at us and tell why, so I've been doing it and have learned a lot about myself! Each week I give him my papers and he reads them and gives them back, he writes notes on the side and tells me what he things about i...

I've been working on getting my inactive Laurels, trying to get them to come back to church.  Well I set up a class in my last BYC that I'd teach them all the Cha Cha on the 3 so I spent a lot of time getting ready, then once I had everything prepared I went to go have a tooth pulled and they used Latex! I don't do well at all with latex. So I...

So a little more than a year ago, I took my mustang out for the first time on the Salt Flats.  I had a blast out there with my good friend Steve. On the way home, Steve had some problems with salt lining his rims, causing some tire imbalance, so we  got off the freeway, I showed him what the problem was, and as I was getting back on th...

Earlier this evening, it was absolutely beautfiul outside, and for some reason, I wasn't drained of energy from the daily grind, so I decided to take my wife and my kids out to the park nearby. While I was pushing Collin and Luci on the swings, I realized how wonderful playing with kids can be.  Of course, this wasn't the first time I reali...

Very interesting that they took the time to tell us that Ammon not only rehearsed what King Benjamin said to the Nephites, but that he then explained it to them that they might understand it.  Not sure why that struck me this time, but it did. (verse 3) According to verse 13, a man who can look into and see (and translate), is a seer.  ...

I just thought I'd jot down an experience which may be of some benefit to others, even if only to provide a few laughs. About 3 years ago, I built my brother a computer and he was just as sick of Microsoft as I was, so I told him about Linux.  He wanted it, so I installed gentoo on his box for him.   I updated it probably 2 or 3 ti...

Many people like fall because of all the colors. I am one of them. I got up this morning and noticed a red glow coming out of one of the rooms. Some of the trees just outside the window had gone into full color. ...

Well....  I think it's finally getting there. I worked quite a bit on ilovemyjournal.com today and ....  its' coming along quite nicely!   I still haven't had anyone sign up yet, but I put it live like.. 2 weeks ago, and have been working on it often.  We'll see how it goes in the coming months. Anyway... I'm gonna go spe...

Yesterday, we received a new shipment. Aren't they pretty?  Our new KRK RP-8 G2 Monitors not only look great, but they sound completely awesome. The instant I put the project at hand through them, it was instantly obvious what needed to be done to enhance the sound - and that is what good monitors are supposed to do. Can't wait to use...

The first thing which caught my eye in this chapter is in verse 5 where it says "Cleave unto God as he cleaveth unto you." When I read that, the first thing which came to mind was D&C 88:63, which states, "Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you." I also think this is one of the first times, if not the first time...

Hmm....  Another war started by another group of dissenters.  Man alive...  Seems like the story is all the same.  People who want to rule another nation end up being sparked and fed by dissenters of the nation they want to rule (think of Amalickiah)...  *sigh* The latter half of this chapter is a great reminder of what h...

Of course, verse 1 immediately reminds me of verse chapter 36 and what I wrote about that.  But then, verse 2 held just as much interest for me.  First off, it seems that Alma talking to his three sons in these chapters has something to do with his being old enough to die at any time.  Yet, Alma's words talk about him having great jo...

Among the discussions I've had of the scriptures, this one is always a fun one. "When God says that the earth is gonna burn, does he mean it literally?  Are the wicked really gonna burn at the second coming?" Honestly, for me, I have enough scriptural evidence to convince me to respond in the affirmative. Thoughts? Also - I'm...

Two days ago, after I got done with the Salt Flats, Steve and I went over to something which previously I had never even heard of before.  It's called the "Dew Tour". The event is in Salt Lake City and runs for 4 days during which the best skaters and bikers in the country come and compete. I was only there for maybe 4 hours, but...

A couple of days ago, I wrote a post about failure and innovation.  I had just seen the movie "Meet The Robinson's" which is a movie all about creativity, failures, leaving the past behind you, and always looking forward. Well...  Orson Jones gave a pretty incredible link in the 1 comment in that post. The comment containe...

The video above is of a band called "Florez", who really did quite well.  But the real reason for the video above is for the LDSMusicians group to see Art City Park, where the LDSFest will be held this year. I just did a quick panoramic for people to analyze and with which to become informed. That's really all.  We got bored a...

Oh wow.  Man, life just keeps getting more and more interesting...  along with frustrating, slightly scary, and faith-promoting.  I won't get into the details here, though, because I want to talk about something else. One thing which came at me as quite intriguing today during church was the concept of "Doctrine of Gratitude&...

It's 2:00am and I'm sitting down here writing and recording music.  I'm trying to do some really relaxed "Trance" music, and .... I'm not entirely sure how it's gonna turn out, but it feels good being able to record music again. I don't even have a name for the song I've been working on for the last month, but... it'll come when it'...

So, it's been awhile since I last wrote about the scriptures, but the fight to the end continues!  I'm in Las Vegas right now for a conference, and what better way to start my day in sin city than to read the holy words of God? 4th Nephi has always been an amazing chapter to me.  I would like to capture in my mind's eye, the way p...

So... I don't even know where to begin. Honestly, my life is so full right now, I feel as though I might decide to curl up into a remote corner of the world somewhere and hide for a few months. That said, each day I seem to manage to get up with a renewed strength to attack the day's duties with a renewed vigor.  Even though it's cl...

Scramjet, a valued client of Advanced Budget Studios (and an amazing band, as well), has recently arrived in the top-ten list of a contest put on by X-96.  Please support them by clicking here and voting for them and their awesome song, "Tread Softly". Thanks, and thank you, Scramjet!  You guys are awesome!  ...

Today I anticipated changing the clutch on Ryan's 1995 Mustang GT for about 3 hours.  I got up at 7:30 to do it, and I'm writing this about 2 hours after we finished.  Needless to say, it was an all-day adventure - and holy cow, were we dirty. I didn't have the sense to take a picture of both of us before I took a shower, but I did of ...

I totally forgot to blog about this, but my band, TODAY, is opening for the Salt Lake City Real Soccer game!  We start playing at 5:00pm! See you there! Click here for more info.  www.mimicrocks.com...

Most normal people would be exhausted right about now, but I guess when ya love what ya do, doing more of it is just invigorating.  So, yesterday evening we were at it again with The Blue Aces, recording the last single, which is sure to be a hit, of their first demo!  The song is called Dance With Me.  Now it's on to the mixing and ...

So, the very first thing which came to mind this time around was from the first verse.  Ether seemed to be a fairly amazing person and a great prophet.  So... How did he get to be that way?  I'd love to hear the story of Ether's conversion - especially considering the environment he grew up in - being born in captivity.  Interes...

This time through Mosiah 3, I had a few interruptions, so I wasn't able to concentrate as much as I would have liked, but family really does come first, so, ya gotta do what ya gotta do... Anyway..  Mosiah 3, to me, this time rang loudly of what the Atonement of Jesus Christ is all about.  It speaks of who needs the Atonement, who is c...
