Ether : 12 - Amazing
So, the very first thing which came to mind this time around was from the first verse. Ether seemed to be a fairly amazing person and a great prophet. So... How did he get to be that way? I'd love to hear the story of Ether's conversion - especially considering the environment he grew up in - being born in captivity. Interesting stuff...
And then there's verse 4, one of my all-time favorites. I've got to post this on my wall somewhere.
Reading verse 4 over and over again is like manna to my soul. With so much controversy going on *constantly* in the world, it is so good to read words of comfort like this. The pure truth of Jesus Christ is so sweet and warm.
I could probably write about verse 4 for days. I love the analogy of hope through faith in Jesus Christ becoming an anchor to one's soul. Fast and firm, belief in Jesus Christ will cause one to always abound in good works, and glorify God. If only I weren't human, complete with so many flaws, it's almost unimaginable, the thought of being worthy to live with God again. Just gotta take Christ's word for it, hold on to that anchor, and follow the Spirit. Being sure to repent along my way, with hope that Christ really does have the power of grace and mercy to complete the requirement of God's justice, and make it possible for exaltation to become a reality.
The thought brings tears of both joy and pain. Joy because of its reality, and pain because of my weakness. I just don't know what I'd do without faith. I thank God for verses like verse 4. Full of truth, light, and love.
I don't have time to finish this chapter today. I'll get to it soon, though. Man, I love this chapter.
