So... Interesting that one of the reasons cited for Heth's righteousness is his remembering what the Lord had done for his people, specirfically, bringing Jared and his kin over the ocean. There has got to be something behind the whole "remember what the Lord has done for you" thing, and living a righteous life. Heck.. Even in Moroni's promise, in Moroni 10:3-5
mentions remembering what the Lord has done for you. Remembering the mercy of the Lord. What in remembering helps one to live a righteous life? Seems that every time I do that, I'm flooded with gratitude, and for me, gratitude brings me overwhelming joy. Hmm... gonna have to ponder that a bit more. "Remembering the Lord"
Hmm.. Verse 8 goes to show that a tyrant can only reign so badly, for so long, before people get a clue and kill the sucker. Riplakish was pretty bad, though, so... I guess he had it coming.
"Favored of the Lord" - interesting phrase (verse 13). Does God play favorites?
Seems that suffering makes people turn to God... Common theme, anyway... (verse 14,15)
