So I'm sure many of you know that I've been working on a new project this year called "Herod the Fink". We built a
new site for it, and update the
project's blog semi-regularly. The site has
music,
photos,
videos, and more, so you can get familiar with us, and know what to expect when we invade your living rooms...
Yes... You heard us, we want to perform in your living rooms. That all started when we were finishing up the 2nd studio album to be released in a few weeks. While considering how in the world we were going to "get our music out there", we came up with the idea of doing Utah-local "living room shows".
It works like this:
You contact either Jesse or me, and let us know you're interested in hosting a Herod the Fink living room show. You then get busy inviting anyone and everyone (friends, family, anyone you think might be interested in attending a free Christmas concert), provide seating space (blankets on floors are awesome) for the day of the concert, along with whatever other accoutrements you see fit in providing (water, juice, crackers, 7-course meals, etc...) - and we would do the rest.
We don't need much space at all to perform, and the entire set is 100% acoustic. The music will be performed by Jesse Crowley and myself with no amplification at all. Just two guys with a guitar, a cajon, and a desire to share the Christmas spirit through original music.
There is no cost for the show. Jesse and I simply want to have the experience of sharing this wonderful music with people who are interested in hearing it. If people wish to hear a more fleshed out, full studio version of the songs, we will bring along a few studio-produced CDs for purchase.
So, if you're interested, feel free to
contact us through our website, or, if you know our email address, feel free to shoot us an email. We'll respond and set up a date to come and fill your living room with the sweet sounds of Christmas through the eyes of Herod, who happens to be a Fink.
If you're interested in seeing what the performance might be like, Jesse and I recorded a portion of one of our practice sessions, and should be available on
the website soon.
