Herod the Fink - Coming This Fall
Some of you may know that I've been working on a Christmas music project called "Herod the Fink" with someone who has been steadily becoming a great friend of mine - Jesse Crowley.
This started September of 2009, when he called me up and asked me if I wanted to work on a few Christmas songs he had been cooking up, and I accepted.  We released our first album after only 3 months of working on it.  It was insane.  The first album was a great stepping stool to what has become an amazing experience.
Since January of this year, Jesse and I have been getting together once per month to work on Herod the Fink's 2nd album, "Return of Herod the Fink".
I've gotta tell ya, I had my doubts when we made the deal.  I didn't think anyone could come up with Christmas songs in January, only weeks after we had just finished Christmas.
Boy, was I wrong.
Jesse came up with what has been, and what is sure to be our first single, "Back to 337".  I'm not entirely sure what happened with that song, but using the now, sadly defunct, website, garageband.com, out of 30 random world-wide people who listened to the song, it had a high-rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars.  We got up to 3,000th place (doesn't seem like much but this was out of 20,000+ songs), and then garageband.com went down.  Bottom line is - this song is amazing...
...and Jesse has written many, many more.
Anyway...  We now have a website where you can buy our first album, listen to some of our tunes, watch some videos, and learn a bit about what the band is all about.
We've had a blast, and I can't wait to get this music out there.  It's been with me all year long, and I've been loving it.
