Best Gig Ever
So two days ago, I found myself on the same stage with the same band I've been with for the past 5 (or so) years, playing pretty much the same songs.

Except, this time, something was different.  As I walked around looking at all of the awesome vehicles on the grounds, there was just something wonderful.  I have no idea how to describe it, and in fact am questioning my reasoning in trying to do so.  I don't know.  There was something in the air that was telling me something was gonna be extra good this time around.

...and it was.   Greatly so.  Although I really can't describe exactly what was going on to make this gig any different than any other one, I'll try to do so by saying there was such a tremendous musical energy inside me and around me, I could almost reach out and touch it.  Even before I played the beginning note.

When the gig actually started, the feeling only increased.  I found myself enveloped with the beats which seemed to just flow right through me, out my arms and into the drums.  It was almost as fluid as the day I played a one-off gig with a guy named Dane Mutters and a few other musicians.  Yeah, that was a very good day, too.

Anyway...  We backed up Carmen Rasmusen while she sang 4 of her songs, and that was a total blast!  The band had only really practiced Carmen's songs 2 times prior to the gig, but we nailed em'.

The rest of the set was awesome, too.  The 2nd set had two songs for which I sang lead vocals.  Those went better than any other time I've ever sang lead while playing the drums.

Not sure why, but the music was flowing like a river last weekend.  Hopefully it only grows from here on out.
