First Impressions : MXL V77
Since the studio's new shining star arrived, we've been having a lot of fun around here.  To be honest, the guy who was good enough to sell us our new MXL V77, couldn't say enough about this microphone, which unfortunately is no longer in production, so when it arrived, I had my hopes up quite high - possibly too high.

So, after two successful recording sessions with this new mic, I can only say three words:

HOLY FREAKING COW

My WORD, this microphone is amazing!

First, I had David Harris over singing a Paramore cover, which totally rocked, and tonight I had a guy named Rich Jones over doing some original guitar and vocal work.  David fell in love at first sound, as was expected....  His vocals are powerful and rich, and the MXL V77 took it without breaking a sweat.

Rich's vocals are much more subdued and articulate, and 100% different from David's.  Yet, as different as the two were, this mic took the good from both voices and created the most beautiful, warm, glorious artwork out of them.

Heh... Who knows... Maybe I'm just a pushover.  Anywho...

Just wanted to say that this microphone has been by far the best investment into Advanced Budget Studios' hardware lineup.

Now, come on over and let's make some music!
