What's With Snow and Me?
Today, I woke up to about 6-10 inches of fresh powdery snow all over the place.   It's actually beginning to feel like Christmas time, now!

Now, most normal people would say within themselves, "Man, I hate snow on the roads.", but not me.

I'm not entirely sure why I'm this way, but it's been this way ever since I can remember.

I love driving in snow.

The first thing I thought when I saw the freshly fallen snow is, "I've gotta get out there and drive in that before the snow-plows get rid of it."  This probably wouldn't be too terribly odd, if I had a hummer, or a 4-wheel drive of some sort, but no.  I've got a mustang GT, which happens to be rear-wheel drive, and pretty much made to not go in snow.

I doubt I'll ever figure out the why, but once I got it out my system, I felt so much better.  I went out and drove like a maniac in the snow for about 30 minutes.  Fish-tailing at 30-40 MPH, and going generally crazy in any vacant parking lot I could find.

So...  Not sure why I posted this, but I just think it's so odd that I absolutely love driving in snow.  Not sure if that'll ever change, either.

You would think I would have grown out of it by now. *grin*

Dude, I feel the same way!  Only I enjoy plowing through snow drifts and seeing just how much snow my Jeep can handle!  The point of the exercise is to get high-centered and have to dig my way out.

I also enjoy mud, of course, except the high centered part, mud is harder to dig out of.

I think it's just a natural result of growing up as a boy in Utah!  Either you learn to enjoy the snow, and how to have fun in and with it, or you sit inside and pout for 3-4 months of the year.

When I was 6 I was satisfied with my Tonkas, now I just need something a wee bit bigger, with more horsepower.

I can't wait until I can afford the new suspension with a 3" lift I want to put on my Jeep, then the mud tires and a winch!

Ya know, Eric.  That's a great point.  Me and a good friend of mine used to regularly take his '87 Honda Civic out in the snow, after the big snow storms, and slam into snow-banks in the church parking lot on purpose, and then have to dig ourselves out.

Man...  I guess you're right.  The thought of "danger" never even occurred to us.  It was all good and fun, and if we got stuck, we had to dig ourselves out - no biggie.

Them's some good memories, right there!
