5-Year-Old's Perspective
I just finished putting my 5-year-old and my 3-year-old to bed.

Earlier today, they both went to the dentist to have a check-up, and for Luci, it was a semi-traumatic experience.  She did really good, but at one point, she was seriously distraught about this gun-looking thing which sprayed water everywhere, and the vacuum they were going to put in her mouth.  Afterward, however, they both got bags full of treats like a new toothbrush, toothpaste, a pencil, a magnet, and such like that.  That seemed to make things alright.

Anyway...  As soon as we were done brushing their teeth tonight in preparation for going to sleep, Luci, with new toothbrush in hand, held it up and declared with with a thoughtful expression,

"This is the best day of my LIFE!  I got a NEW TOOTHBRUSH!"

So, there ya have it.  The best day of Luci's life - documented for ages to come.

Ah, I can't help but wish life were as simple now for me, yet, seeing through her eyes is definitely a breath of fresh air for me.  Hehe...  Something as simple as a new toothbrush.

I think both of them are sleeping with their new possessions as I type.

Thank you for sharing that sweetheart.  I guess I did miss something when I didn't help you get the kids to bed last night.  Children are so easy to please.  That is a good thing to remember.  At times like that it is easy to see why the Savior said to be as a little child.  Love you!

Ah, the dentist.  Such fun times.  My kids love going...they even go off to have their teeth cleaned without me.  They too love new toothbrushes.  I remember throwing hysterical fits at the dentist office when I was their age.  Now the dentist lives in our ward.  I wonder if he remembers those fits I threw each time he sees me?  Good job kids.  I wish everyday could be the best day of my life.  Guess I just have to make it such, eh?
