Alma : 24 - Conversion
Man... When I started reading this one, I forgot it was about the Anti-Nephi-Lehi's who sacrificed themselves for the word of God. Wow.
Along with the previous chapter, I find it interesting that the main source of contention among all the Lamanites are the people who were once Nephites themselves. The Amalekites and the Amulonites seem to be the rally-rousers of the bunch to kick some Nephite booty.
What conversion. What true conversion. There really is no other explanation as to why they did what they did. I'm sure many of the converts were experts with the sword, and other weapons and strategies of war. They definitely could have put up a good fight. Yet, with a belief they had shed too much blood already, death seemed like a better option than to save even themselves.
I found it now, and find it each time I read it, refreshing to see such a deep devotion to God. Well, actually, in these times, to find a conviction that deep to anything good is refreshing.
