Mosiah : 25
One thing I noticed while reading verses 7 through 11, apart from the torn emotions of all the people, was what caused their emotion.
Why did they feel so "amazed" and fille with "pain and anguish", and with "exceedingly great joy"? Well...
When was the last time you felt filled with pain and anguish for someone else? When was the last time you felt exceedingly great joy for someone else?
Ya know... Thinking within myself, the times when I have felt those emotions for someone else is only when I care for that person as much as I care for myself.
I guess my point is, in order to feel things for other people, you've got to care. Evidently, these people cared greatly even for the Lamanites (who at the time would just love to see all the Nephites dead). Interesting.
Caring = Love. Love comes from Christ. The more we integrate Christ into ourselves, the more we care about others.
The rest of the chapter seems to be dealing with the logistics of the church, because of its size.
