My Wedding Day...

I got married like a bit more than 5 years ago, and I'm lovin' it.

But, during those five years, I've had some footage gracefully shot and donated to me by my friend
Ty Swartzlander

on my wedding day.  On that day, Ty told me he was going to put something together and give it to me later, but instead, I told him I'd really, really, really like to just get the raw footage instead.

Thankfully, I got the footage digitized about two years later, and almost 4 years later, I finally got around to actually putting something together with it.

Man...  During the making of the video, I couldn't think about much else.  I stayed up until 3:00am this morning, and then a couple more hours after church getting it all together.  I hope you like it.  It's really kissy-kissy-smoochie-smoochie-mushy-mushy, but hey...  I love it.

*note*  All editing was done in gentoo Linux using nothing more than KDEnLive.  The program really is progressing...   It still crashes every 10 minutes or so, but if you're saving every 10 seconds, then that really isn't a problem.

It took me a total of about 5 hours to get it together.

Jas, you did a beautiful job of putting this video together......I will never forget your wedding day....it is one of my fondest memories being with you & your sweet Sarah on that beautiful day of celebration!! Thanks for sharing!!

Hey good stuff.  I got married 8 years ago, and I haven't even digitized the video!  The photos were all non-digital back then too.  Nice to see your recommendation for Kdenlive - I've filmed about 5 weddings, and done a couple of edits with various software, but nothing on Linux has worked for me yet.  I'll try it out.

@ lain

Thanks for the compliment, bro!

If you're into any sort of professional video editing, I would seriously recommend against Kdenlive.  It crashes often, and has loads of bugs, but it *can* produce video.

I said this took me 5 hours to produce...  If I had Final Cut Pro, I could have done it in an hour and a half.

For Linux, it's great.  For the rest of the world, it still needs a lot of work.

Jason,

WOW!!!  That put tears in my eyes.  What a beautiful job you did!  It is nice to see people in love.  I wish I had been there, but this was the next best thing :)

Thanks, Laura!  I'm 100% sure you would have been there had you known about it.  Thanks for the compliment, too.  I'm glad you felt the spirit of what I was trying to create.  I sure do love Sarah...  Almost as much as you love your hubby... *wink wink*

Take care, and much love.

Jason, I love the video. I was reading through your page and Ty's name caught my eye. I thought you were going to say that the jerk ty never gave us the video, but I was pleased to see that the video is safely in your hands. Great job on the video. Tell Sarah I love her.
