2nd Nephi : 21 & 22
Surprisingly... I'm not sure if it's because of my attitude or what, but I believe I got a bit more out of this chapter than I have for the rest of the Isaiah stuff.
I'm not 100% sure what the branch is that comes out of the root of Jesse, but I've been told that is refers to the prophet Joseph Smith (D&C 113).
I also believe that when it says "with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked", means that words of truth spoken by him will condem those who are wicked. I also believe that this verse (4) is speaking of Jesus Christ, not Joseph Smith.
The rest of the chapter, I believe, is speaking of the last days and the gathering of the tribes of Israel. Nothing specific came to me for the rest of the chapter.
Chapter 23, being so short, seems to be just a song of triumph for the righteous during the last hours of the last days.
I hope I'm on the side which has cause to rejoice, not the one which has cause to fear.
