As some of you know, in addition to running this site, I also run a site called ldscompanion.org
Today, I was rummaging through some of the artwork submitted by my users, when I found
this piece.
The artwork is well-done, and presents a Biblical message as well as a URL. Well... Not being familiar with the URL, I decided to see what it was all about.
Upon arriving at the website, I immediately knew it was a "Christian" based website, and considered deleting the artwork.
I scrolled down the page, and found a video embedded in the site, and decided to watch it.
Now I believe to have a pretty open mind about certain things, and a very closed mind about certain things. One thing I have a very open mind about is art. To me, in my opinion, It doesn't matter where it comes from, or who made it. If the artwork is beautiful - it is beautiful. If it is distasteful, it is distasteful. If it is offensive, it is offensive. Doesn't matter who made it.
Some people would consider something created from a relgion which has some heated disagreements with theirs, automatically not worth viewing or listening to.
Well... I'm
so glad my open mind prevailed in this instance.
The video I watched was ........ I'm left speechless at trying to find a word.
It connected with me on such a deep level, about 2/3 of the way through the video, I wept openly. I couldn't control the sobbing as tears flowed down my cheeks.
Please watch it. It can do you nothing but good.
Yes.... I know it's made by people who aren't of the LDS faith, nevertheless....
...It is simply beautiful.
