anxious
2nd Nephi : 9 - Part 1
Before I even begin reading this chapter, I've gotta let you know that this chapter intimidates me. It is so doctrinally rich, I'm seriously getting anxious just thinking about having to decipher its contents here and now. I know this anxiety is unfounded because I know that God answers prayers, and I've prayed, so... Let's get to it.
First question: Verse 3. Why did he talk about the blessings upon their children, instead of upon them?
Answer: Probably because their children will be among the people to witness the coming of Jesus to the land Bountiful. (verses 4 and 5)
I just finished up to verse 23, and ... this chapter is amazing. It's like one cohesive unit telling everything about why the Atonement is necessary, the judgement, the resurrection, the law of restoration, the eternal scope of the Atonement, etc...
One verse I like concerns the omnisicience of God. It plainly states, so nobody can misunderstand, that God knows everything. Verse 20 plainly states:
"...he knoweth all things and there is not anything save he knows it."
So far, so good. I'll finish up the chapter tomorrow.
