1st Nephi : 11 - Do You Believe?
As soon as the angel of God knew Nephi's purpose and desire, the first question he asked him was "Do you believe?".
I think that's a fairly important question, which we should ask ourselves each day. If we are being tempted and we ask ourselves that question, to which we already know the answer, I can promise you the tempter's power will be less.
After Nephi told the angel he believed, the things he saw were spectacular. I love the detail with which Nephi describes the tree of life and the fountain, and the Lamb of God.
I can't help but be reminded of my own faithlessness when compared to Nephi, but at the same time, it's completely understandable.
Ah, well... I'll go and do what it is I can do, and pray every day that one day I'll have the faith of Nephi; even if it's in the afterlife.
