Heh...
I remember a couple of months back (or has it been a year now?) when Microsoft announced to the world that the years of delay were now over, as they were finally releasing the famed
Microsoft Vista Operating System!!!!!!
The world (and peasants) rejoiced.
About a week after that, my father called me up and told me he was considering the purchase of this supposedly "break-through" OS. I didn't know jack about it at the time, but I knew the history of Microsoft and their wonderfully bug-free (read: buggy to the point of being nothing short of swiss cheese) releases.
I didn't hesitate to tell him to wait at least until they had SP1 out to buy it.
Boy, am I glad I made him wait. Holy-freaking-cow.
There's
an article out I just got done reading, and although not really surprised by the bug, I am seriously amazed that this company has got this far.
There's a recently-found bug in Microsoft which entails nothing more than copying files. Copying.... files. ..... *blink* .....
copying....files.
Yup.... It appears that if you want to back your system up by copying your files to another locally-mounted hard drive (I do it regularly on Linux), you will not only run out of memory, but sometimes the computer won't even tell you there has been a problem. Sheesh...
What am I talking about? Away with backing up your system.... Even if you have a large collection of mp3s, or images, or anything else - chances are, Vista will screw it up if you try to copy them somewhere.
Amazing. Simply amazing.
I hope Microsoft drowns in the pool of its own inadequacy soon, so companies who really know how to make operating systems (Linux, Apple) can show the general public what a the computing experience should be like.
What a shame. Make it look all pretty, Microsoft, and at the same time, make sure it's completely useless.
