2007 Monterey Trip - Day 1
Wow.... Today has been crazy.
I woke up around 2:30am this morning, put the suitcases in the van, woke the kids up (actually, Luci was already awake and excited to be going to "Shugee's House"), put them in the van, said a quick prayer for safety and health, and we were off!
I'm tellin' ya... If you have kids and a 10-hour trip to make in a car, the easiest way we've found to make it happen with minimal suffering on the part of pretty much everyone but the driver, is to get up around 2:00am, leaving around 3:00am. The kids sleep 80% of the time, and when they're awake, they're pretty much incoherent.. :)
Anyway... We made the trip, got some good In 'n' Out burgers, and arrived with about 10 hours of driving.
When we arrived here, the comments made about my mohawk were surprisingly minimal and everyone seemed in good spirits.
I ended up being on kid duty for a couple of hours while everyone went to do various things, and other than that, we just sat around, did very little, and enjoyed everyone's company.
Tomorrow should prove to be interesting.
