I've been working a bit on adding the possibility of video journaling to ILoveMyJournal.com. I'm not 100% sure if it will work well enough for those who are less technically inclined, but today I was able to get a proof-of-concept working. One of my journal entries now has a video (the video is of the UVSC Car Show put on yesterday). Just to ...

I'm in CA!  So far I'm not sure how to judge this place.  My ward is really nice.  That's a big plus.  I can't judge them just yet though.  I'll get a better view of the youth on Wednesday at Mutual.  My leaders are really nice (you ca...

To start, I must say that the video above was created using a very old digital camera.  It shoots at 15 fps, so, that is why the video quality is so horrible.  I'll see if I can't get a more decent video later on.  Now, on with the entry... I would have written about this yesterday evening, but I was dead-tired.  So... I'll wri...

OK girls camp is coming up fast. I have had a hard time with my Young womens teachers, The two I have a rearlly hard time with are not going, well one is. We have this fund raiser to get the money for camp, I'm  going to auction off what I'm best at :-) LOL! I'm doing two reflexioalgy foot massages each is an hour. My hands are gonna die B-) B...

While Elder Scott was talking about the justice of the Father, I couldn't help but remember a very simple conversation I had with a childhood friend named Jared Peck. He was talking about scenarios of people hurting the ones he loved, and how he would get back at them.  I sat and made the required remarks such as, "oh", and "y...

I just finished reading through this talk, and it brought some thoughts to mind... With Elder Walker's example of his grandparents displaying a photo of the First Presidency, I totally agree with the analogy, "Years later I concluded that displaying the picture of the First Presidency was equivalent to Joshua’s beautiful expression: '...

Sometimes it doesnt seem like i have anyfriends at alll cause i always get ditched and ignored at school wen megan isnt there cause desie always seems to wanna hang wit the other ppl in our class then me cause she says me and megan are alot closer then me and her which is true but still.and i wish she could come stay wit me this weekend cause of my...

This talk really got me thinking about where my heart is. As I've grown older, my pet sins are still doing their best to have their portion of my heart dedicated to them.  I'm still doing my best to assure they don't. Often, I wonder how my life will differ in this aspect 5 or 10 years from now.  Will I still struggle with the same si...

I've never noticed that by the way Christ speaks to his father, he is displaying total and complete humility. If Christ submits himself to the will of the Father so willingly and completely, who are we to suppose we are above doing so ourselves? "It is very enlightening and touching to me to consider how Jesus talks to His Father. In His g...

I like to get emails from askgramps.com he was the mission pres. at the mtc at some point and you can ask him anything. well what do you think of this... please let me know. Where can I find the account of when Joseph and Samuel Smith went into a room in the h...

So, I've been surfing around the net today, figuring out how I'm going to work in the new website with the old one and what-not, and while doing so, I found out that apparently, Art City Sound is nothing but a big piece of Volvo heavy machinery.  Take a look at this link for proof.  (link here, too).   While you're at it, take a...

Ya know... Today I really messed up. Well, not *really*, but I messed up pretty badly if we're considering the goal I set at the beginning of this week. I decided to play Need For Speed Underground 2 (my latest addiction) for a "while" and it turned out to be for "7 hours". Yeah.. That's just not cool when all the decisions I'm making are suppos...

I just got back from a lunch with a long-time friend.  You know the type...  The type of friend who has shown true colors throughout the years, and whose colors you've grown to love. Yeah..  Anyway... We got to talking about some pretty cool stuff that I thought I'd write down, just so I can go back and read them again. The ...

I was goofing around with The Gimp and noticed it had a couple save as html options. I played around with them and settled on using the colorxhtml one. This is how I took this image and turned it into a cool text html thingy. Before: After: The process goes like this: Open the image. Make sure the image is in the cor...

I think that most of this chapter is talking about the gathering of the tribes of Israel, although I could be completely and totally offbase.  This is one of the chapters which I probably wouldn't write about had I not made a resolution to write about each and every chapter from the Book of Mormon. Pretty difficult to understand right now. ...

Ya know...  I think this little line from this chapter (verse 5) which, I believe could apply to anyone, anywhere, and would be a great little line to post on your wall, and look at every day. "And now there was nothing in all the land to hinder the people from prospering continually, except they should fall into transgression" ...

I just thought I'd jot down an experience which may be of some benefit to others, even if only to provide a few laughs. About 3 years ago, I built my brother a computer and he was just as sick of Microsoft as I was, so I told him about Linux.  He wanted it, so I installed gentoo on his box for him.   I updated it probably 2 or 3 ti...

My wife and I got a dutch oven set about a month ago. We finally decided to try it out. We have both seen and helped with dutch oven cooking before, but have never done it without the help of someone more experienced. Problem #1 You need to get the coals lit before you can cook anything. I tried a couple methods to get them started. Pile o...

Okay. How long has Microsoft been in business?  How long have they been the "best seller" of productivity suites?  Oh yeah... and one last question: How many people have bought their Office software? Yeah.... That's what I thought.   LOADS, GRUNDLES, MILLIONS. So....  I was reading my RSS feeds this morni...

I enjoyed this talk, but to tell you the truth, I have no idea what to write about it.  I think it has to do more with my current mood than anything else. The talk made a great point that we need to live in the now.  We need to utilize the atonement of Christ in order to secure a great tomorrow. And as far as yesterday goes, I believe...

I thought I had to substitute teach the 15-16 year old class today, so I prepared it this morning, only to find out I didn't. That's okay, because the gospel doctrine teacher we have is amazing, and I got to sit in his class! Omni.... One of the best lines of this chapter is in verse 2.  "I myself am a wicked man".  I'm...

So, a few weeks ago, the studio acquired a Jackson electric guitar and didn't really have any experience with it.  So a good friend and client of the studio came in and messed around a bit with it, and using a great dual-mic technique to get the most out of the amp, we managed to get a very, very nice guitar tone out of it. Soon, it will be ...

So... I apologize for not having kept up-to-date with what's recently been going on, but I honestly haven't had the time!  If I have to choose between recording music, or writing about recording music, I'll take the former, thank you very much. So, this last week was booked solid - again.  We saw a few regulars come in and a few new on...

Well... Not really.  They're done, but I'm not.  So.... You know you've just had an incredible recording session when everyone has gone home AND it's 1:45AM, and you can't get yourself to go to bed, because you know how good the end product will be after mixing and mastering... ...SO you spend the next 1.5 hours mixing and mastering...

Very interesting that the word "hate" is used in this context.  Very interesting, indeed.  I'm not quite sure what to make of it, but it's quite interesting there were no other words chosen.  I find it difficult to associate the word "hate" with God.  I've gotta ponder on that one for a bit. "Freedom&q...

Ya know, I love verse 6, and verses like it (2nd Nephi 4, for example).  The reason is quite simple. Sometimes it's hard to remember that prophets are people, too.  They're just subject to Satan's temptations and mistakes and errors and such as we are.  Verses like this remind me that they aren't perfect, and it brings them down to...

I spent about 2 hours today trying to debug something so stupid and simple as the following code. <script> function submit_me() { document.form1test.submit(); } </script> <form name="form1test" method="post" action="newuser.php"> <input name="submit" type="button" value=&...

I wonder if Abinadi's disguise was due to him not being welcome in the city anymore, as in, he couldn't get in at all without it.  Dunno... Just a thought. Also, I find it quite prophetic for Abiniadi to be using the analogy of a piece of cloth in a hot furnace, as far as the worth of King Noah's life.  He could have just as easily used...
