1st Nephi : 12 - Beautiful Yet Horrible
I had forgotten that in this chapter, Nephi sees the Lord descend from heaven to the people who would be born from Nephi.

I put myself in his situation, and quite honestly , I have no idea how I would react.  It would be so supremely surreal - seeing your kids' kids' kids' kids, and then seeing the Savior of the world show himself unto them.  Incredible.

Man, I wish I wasn't so tired right now.  I got around 5 1/2 hours of sleep last night and have been living on caffeine today.

The reason I wish I had a bit more brain power is because of verses 9 and 10.

There are other verses having to do with the 12 apostles and the judgement day.  I just don't have the strength to do any major research tonight.  So, note to self, study verses 9 and 10 of this chapter.

Having just finished reading the chapter, I came up with the title for this entry.

Man, how beautiful it would be to see the Savior visit your progenitors, yet at the same time, and I'm sure within a very short timeframe, see the complete destruction of the same people's progenitors.  Basically, seeing your whole extended family get wiped out due to sin.  Ouch.

What a fantastic vision Nephi has had thus far, and because I've read the Book of Mormon before, I know it only gets better from here.  We can certainly thank God for inspiring Nephi to write what he did.
