Down-At-A Reunion
First off...  I'm beginning to understand just how much of  a camper / outdoorsman I really am not.  We brought the family up to a water park for a vacation yesterday and Monday, and I tell ya... on Monday, I had an absolute blast.  On Tuesday, it was all I could do to keep from just hopping into the car, and driving home the moment I woke up.  Sleeping in a tent just doesn't do me right - in any way.

So... Now that you all know that I really don't like camping, let me tell you what I do like!

I've simply got to say - My father is my hero.  Holy cow...  There is a water-slide at this water park (called "Down-At-A", in Idaho) which is .... quite fast.  We're talking like.... pretty big rush-type fast.  It goes down at just below a 45 degree angle for probably a hundred feet or so...  Then it curves around and ends.  Not too elaborate, but man, it's fast.  Anyway...

Ryan and I were going down this slide over and over and over again, when we decided to get our 64-year-old father to go down it.  He was game, so we all headed up the wooden-stair climb.  Hehe.....

He went down it, and enjoyed it.  Then he went down it again... Then we told him how to do it even faster, and he went down it again!  Man... That was awesome.  heh.... I chuckle now just thinking about it.  Anyway....

By the end of the day, Ryan and I had made friends with a couple of the life-guards, so we could bend the rules a bit, so Ryan decided to try to go down this slide (which was named "The Black Hole") head-first, while the sign at the top, in very large print states "FEET FIRST ONLY".   The life-guard gave him the "Okay" and so we both tried it.  Wow...  That was ... kind of scary, but just as fun.  So, we did it two more times head-first.

Good times.

Hmmm... What else did we do?  Oh yeah... This was the first time that Luci really enjoyed herself at a public pool.  She just lounged around in the kiddie pool all day long, and loved it.  Collin, of course, loved the water from the moment he saw the pool.  We had him in an oversized life-jacket for part of the day which he liked as well.

During the night, Curtis and I had our usual debate about spiritual stuff, which got me thinking about lots of stuff, about which I will probably write later on today.

Yesterday night was horrible.  Our kids don't sleep well outside of our home, and .....  so we don't either.  I don't think I would have slept well regardless, but the whiny kids was just an additional bonus - and I don't do well with little sleep in me.  So..  Yesterday, we just hung around until a little after noon, and then headed home.  Good times.

I sure do love my family, even if I am the odd duck of the bunch.
